Having qualified from Edinburgh University in 1989, I have worked in the NHS for 34 years, mainly as a GP Partner, but I have also had short spells employed as a Salaried GP and GP Retainer. In addition, I have been a Macmillan GP, an Out of Hours GP working regular weekend sessions, and a GP in Palliative Medicine. My clinical interests are Mental Health, Women’s health, and Palliative Medicine but in my day-to-day practice, I cover all aspects of primary care. I am qualified to fit intrauterine devices (coils) for contraception, HRT, and in the management of heavy menstrual bleeding, as well as ring pessaries for management of gynaecological prolapse. In addition, I perform steroid knee injections to help with knee pain due to arthritis. Aside from work, I enjoy walking my 3 dogs, ski- ing, and singing in a local choir.

After qualifying as a Doctor in 1993, from the University of London, followed by wide-ranging hospital training, I moved into the community & qualified in General Practice in 2001. Twenty-four years later & I still consider it a privilege to be able to help people with their health. I work two days a week at an NHS GP practice. The thing that has drawn me to private practice is the ability to have the right amount of time to offer people.

Working here at Total Health gives me the very best of both worlds. I get to practice Medicine, about which I am passionate, in a relaxed setting, where I really can give people the time they need. Each person & each case is individual & the solution is most often a combination of what I do professionally & what I am able to advise patients that they can do for themselves. Jenny trained as a Sports Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer in 2003 after having obtained a degree in Sports Science and Biology due to a passion for sport, movement and how the body works. She initially worked in a gym environment and for a local rugby team for a few years until she had the opportunity to established and owned her own multidisciplinary clinic in Hook which she owned for 10 years. Sadly, after this time her husband’s job moved the family away from the area. Jenny seized the opportunity to upskilled and qualify as a Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist from the London School of Sports Massage and since then has been lucky enough work for multidisciplinary clinics in Bisham Abbey and Loughborough. Alongside this she has provided Soft Tissue Therapy at several events such as:  London Marathon,  the World Para Swimming Championships,  the Commonwealth Games,  the World Frisbee Championships,  and as the Soft Tissue Therapist in the medical team for Team UK at the Invictus Games in Vancouver. Over her career, Jenny has developed a friendly person centric approach to treatment, concentrating holistically on the client and their needs. Together with the client she sets personalised goal and treatment plans taking into consideration the individual’s needs, at any moment in time. This enables her to work effectively with a broad scope of clients from professional athletes to the non-active, and those with chronic pain or working with the long-term management of conditions. The range of techniques she can usilise to support her Soft Tissue Therapy treatment are as follows:  Musculoskeletal Assessment  Hot or cold stone therapy or a combination of both,  Dry myofascial cupping,  Kinesotaping,  Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM),  Myofascial Release.  Personal Training/ rehabilitation Jenny is a gold member of the Sports Massage Association and the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage. Additionally, she is currently studying for a Level 4 qualification in Corrective Exercises and APPI Pilates Reformer qualification, both of which she is loving!
